In man-riding applications, an additional safety system in accordance with EN 1808 is mandatory to secure the work basket or platform against falling. The RIGID LSF Series Anti-tilting Safety Lock is precisely engineered for this purpose.

The LSF Series Safety Lock is an independently mechanical device triggered by tilting angle. It is small, light and compact, mounted directly on the suspended platform where the safety wire rope runs through it. When the working wire rope breaks or the hoist fails, causing the platform to tilt excessively, the LSF Safety Lock automatically and instantly locks the safety wire rope, securely catching the load and preventing the platform from continuing to tilt or fall.
The product series has not only obtained EU CE certification, but has also been rigorously tested at multiple times the rated load to ensure an extremely large safety margin, providing trustworthy safety protection for your suspended platforms.

The RIGID LSF Series Safety Lock delivers outstanding performance across all critical safety parameters:
Automatic Tilt Detection & Locking The swing arm triggering mechanism inside the LSF continuously monitors the tension of the working wire rope and the tilting angle of the platform. If the platform tilting angle reaches the preset safety threshold (3°~10°), or the working wire rope suddenly breaks and slackens, the swing arm device triggers automatically, immediately driving the rope locking mechanism into action.
Self-Locking Clamping Technology The safety rope is firmly held between the clamping jaws, preventing any further slippage. The LSF employs an advanced self-locking design principle: the greater the load, the tighter the clamp grips. Meanwhile, the clamping jaw surface is specially designed with sufficient contact area to provide powerful braking force without damaging the wire rope.
Ultra-Short Response Time In the event of accidental tilting or rope breakage, the LSF Safety Lock completes locking within an extremely short time, effectively preventing the platform from tilting significantly and maximizing protection for personnel.
Intuitive Operation & Reset
Automatic Reset: When the suspended platform returns to a horizontal position and the working wire rope is tensioned again, the swing arm is lifted upwards, and the safety lock unlocks automatically without complex manual intervention.
Manual Unlocking: In special circumstances, operators can also manually pull the swing arm downwards to release the safety lock.
Working Principle
The anti-tilting safety lock is mainly composed of the support seat, swing arm, roller, and rope locking device. The working wire rope threads through the big roller and rope guard roller, and its tension makes the swing arm deflect upwards to control the unlocking of the rope locking device.
When it works, the working wire rope is stressed and drives the roller and swing arm to rotate upward, releasing the rope locking device and making the safety wire rope smoothly pass from the lock inside. When the suspended platform tilts to the limited value (3°~10°) or the working wire rope breaks, the pressure of the working wire rope on the swing arm of the safety lock will weaken or disappear, and it will rotate downwards, driving the rope locking device to reset to clamp the safety wire rope and prevent the suspended platform from continuing to tilt or fall.
The self-locking principle guarantees safety: the clamping jaws grip tighter as the load increases, making it physically impossible for the rope to slip once the device has been triggered.
The RIGID LSF Series Anti-tilting Safety Lock is specially designed for suspended platforms with end stirrups and external safety frames. It is particularly suitable for long platforms or working-at-height scenarios with strict tilt angle limits:

Long Suspended Access Platforms / Gondolas — Providing safety protection for building facade construction, curtain wall installation, cleaning, and maintenance, effectively preventing dangerous tilting caused by uneven loading at both ends of long platforms.
